Sharon
Forster-Blouin's professional goals were seeded at a
young age. She had always loved the company of animals,
and at age fourteen, began working for a local
veterinary hospital, cleaning cages, floors and
equipment, and helping with the care and treatment of
the animals. Her academic interests and success
eventually earned her a Bachelor of Science degree in
Biology and a subsequent Masters of Science Degree in
Parasitology from the University of Virginia. She then
enrolled as a doctoral candidate at Florida State
University while continuing to broaden her animal care
experience by working for a mobile veterinary practice.
She successfully defended her Ph.D. thesis in Population
Genetics at FSU during her first year as a student at
the University of Florida College of Veterinary
Medicine. Her academic career was capped by her
graduation as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with
Highest Honors in 1992. Dr. Forster-Blouin is further
distinguished as a recipient of a prestigious award from
the American Association of Feline Practitioners for her
outstanding interest and ability in feline medicine and
surgery.
Dr.
Forster-Blouin has gained invaluable experience working
with animals in such diverse climates as Florida, the
Navajo Nation, and Alaska. Her extensive experience in
veterinary emergency medicine as well as mobile
(in-home) animal care continues to benefit her feline
patients. Time spent working in four different all-cat
clinics around the United States has allowed her to
create what she feels is the ultimate cat-only setting
that combines the highest degree of medical training and
the latest in veterinary medical technology with the
unique needs of the feline patient.
Those who
cherish their cats will appreciate the focused and
specialized care their feline companions receive at
Corvallis Cat Care. Dr. Forster-Blouin's practice
philosophy and goals are singularly simple. She says
"I've tried to create an environment I'd not only feel
comfortable with, but want to take my own cats into."
Her other emphasis is in educating the owners of her
patients and providing them with the tools they need to
better care for and understand their cats. Dr. Forster-Blouin's
ongoing dedication to making Corvallis Cat Clinic a warm
and calming health care and boarding facility for cats
is a priority. She welcomes and values the input of her
clients as a means of continually improving the quality
of the care her patients receive.
Corvallis
